Being asked to be part of the planning team for the March 2026 Gala was an experience I’ll genuinely never forget.
From the outside, people see the finished event, the atmosphere, the conversations, the energy in the room. What they don’t always see is everything that happens behind the scenes to bring it all together. And this time, I had the privilege of being part of that journey from the very beginning.
Where It All Began
The Mayor of Enfield Cllt Margret Greer me to be part of the conversation.
A shared vision. A group of people coming together, each bringing their own strengths, perspectives and creativity to the table.
From that point on, the planning became something more than just organising an event, it became a collaboration. Meetings filled with ideas, laughter, problem-solving and those moments where everything suddenly clicks into place. Everyone involved brought their own magic
The Magic of Team Energy
What stood out the most for me was the energy within the team.
Everyone was committed, supportive and genuinely invested in making the Gala something special. There was a real sense of “we’re in this together,” and that made all the difference.
Of course, like any event planning, there were challenges, timelines, logistics, last-minute changes but even those moments were met with a sense of humour and teamwork.
And honestly, some of the best memories came from those in-between moments:
The laughter during planning meetings.
The creative brainstorming.
The small wins along the way.
More Than Just Planning an Event
What I loved most was that it didn’t feel like “work.”
It felt like being part of something meaningful.
There’s something powerful about collaborating with people who are aligned in purpose. Everyone brought their own skills, but also their personality and that’s what made the process so enjoyable.
We weren’t just planning a Gala, we were creating an experience.
The Night It All Came Together
And then, suddenly, it was here.
March 2026.
Seeing everything come together on the night was such a special moment. The room filled with people, the atmosphere buzzing, conversations flowing, it was everything we had hoped for and more.
There’s a unique feeling when you see something you’ve helped create come to life. A quiet sense of pride, mixed with gratitude and, if I’m honest… a little bit of “we did it!”
What I’ll Take Away
This experience reminded me of the importance of collaboration, connection and enjoying the process, not just focusing on the outcome.
Yes, the Gala itself was incredible.
But the journey to get there? That’s where the real magic was.
