Family Based Solutions Business Networking North London BNNL.jpg

HOW WE SUPPORT OUR FAMILIES

Family Based Solutions works with the whole family to end the cycle of abuse and repair family relationships.  We work with families using the solution focused approach which gives the family full control in the direction of the work and each family member has a part to play in moving the family towards their preferred future.

The family are in the role of the expert as they will understand their family better than we ever will.  The families identify their own outcomes from the sessions which they then work towards by taking small manageable steps.

Each family is supported by two practitioners. This gives the family members an opportunity to discuss the challenges and agree a way forward so they no longer require our services.

The story of Home Care Preferred London & Hertfordshire

It was while helping his mum Velma care for his terminally ill stepdad Bob, that Ken Waterhouse’s views on long term care began to change. Previously Ken had owned and operated care homes but now realised that many people wanted the option to remain at home. Ken decided to set up a new company, Home Care Preferred.

Pairing over 30 years’ experience working in the retirement sector with a new conviction that many people would prefer to be cared for in their own homes, Ken established the first branch of Home Care Preferred in London in 2012.

Ken started his career in the care sector in 1988 when he opened his first care home. Since then, he has owned and operated award-winning care environments before launching his first domiciliary care service, Home Care Preferred.

Home Care Preferred now provides support in London and Hertfordshire with branches is Winchmore Hill and Barnet. Since inception, the focus has always been on striving towards an excellent standard of care and delivering a highly personal service.
